The Caribbean is a pretty amazing place, no matter what the weather is I'd always be willing to bet that the weather is better there. While we can't deliver the Caribbean weather to your door, it is easy to bring the flavors of the islands home with a great Jamaican Jerk Seasoning or Jamaican Jerk Sauce from Hot Sauce Planet. Jerk has been around for ages and it is believed to have derived from the Spanish word charqui, which means dried meat. Most jerk spices and seasoning have very long lists of ingredients but the three main spices to any good jerk are allspice, scotch bonnet peppers and thyme. Once you have picked some amazing Jerk spices and sauces, it is time to rub down the meat and let it marinade for a great barbecue. A TRUE Jamaican Jerk MUST be barbecued. Traditionally the meat is slow roasted for several hours with all of the Jamaican Jerk Spices and Sauces while adding a little allspice to the fire.
